Confluence without clutter
How we score agreement between a prior swing, a session open, and a round number without stacking five lines.
Confluence is often taught as “more lines equals better.” In practice that fills the chart until every price looks special. Our training desk uses a simple score: prior swing touch (1), alignment with a higher-timeframe zone (1), proximity to a session or weekly open within a small tolerance (1). A level needs two points to stay; three earns a thicker mark.
Round numbers alone never get a line unless they also satisfy another criterion. That rule alone removes a surprising amount of decoration from trainee charts in the first sitting.
