When a wick is not a new resistance

Trainees often redraw resistance the moment a single candle prints above it. In our markup sessions we ask three questions before moving the line: Did the close hold above the zone on the timeframe that defined it? Was volume unusual relative to the prior ten bars? Did the next session retest and fail?

If the answer to the first is no, we usually keep the original zone and mark the spike as a liquidity probe. Moving the line every wick produces a chart that follows price instead of framing it. Practice this on three historical spikes in your own market before the next sitting — write the answers beside each chart so the habit sticks under live pressure.
